Miami Lakes, Fla. (www.orangebowl.org) – Tickets are now on sale for the 2021 AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Saturday, December 18 at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Fla. Game one tips at 1 p.m. ET featuring the South Florida Bulls against the Florida Gators, followed by the Central Florida Knights and the Florida State Seminoles in game two at 3:30 p.m. ET. To purchase tickets, please visit www.orangebowl.org/basketball/, call/text the Orange Bowl ticket office at (305) 341-4701, or e-mail tickets@orangebowl.org. The doubleheader, which is the only NCAA Division I basketball to be played in Broward County this year, will be televised in Florida on Bally Sports Sun and available across the country on Bally Sports’ family of regional sports networks. This marks the first time in the Classic’s 27-year history that all four participating teams are from the state of Florida. In addition, AutoNation will serve as the title sponsor of the event for the first time in Classic history.
This will be the first time that the Gators and Bulls face off since 2002 in which Florida came away with a 68-52 win in Gainesville. The Gators will be making their 22nd appearance in the Classic (17-4) and are fresh off a fourth-straight NCAA Tournament bid. The Bulls will be making their third appearance in the Classic.
The Knights and Seminoles contest is a rematch of last year’s regular season game in Tallahassee in which UCF upset then-ranked No. 15 FSU 86-74, ending the Seminoles’ 27-game home winning streak. Florida State returns to the Classic for the 12th time (9-2) after another thrilling run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and a No. 10 finish in the final Coaches Poll of the 2020-21 season. The Knights will be making their second appearance in the Classic. The AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic is supported by title sponsor AutoNation and associate sponsors American Airlines, Bally Sports Sun, Dunkin’, FLA Live Arena, Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB, Miami Herald, Sunshine Health, Tire Kingdom and Toyota.
