The remaining two undefeated teams in The American, Rice and South Florida, will battle for first place in the conference on Wednesday as the Owls travel to Tampa. Both teams enter the match on a six-match winning streak and are 6-0 in conference play. This is the lone match they play against each other during the regular season. FLORIDA PACE MAKERS
The American Athletic Conference features two of the top setters in the nation this season in South Florida’s Carolina Dykes and Florida Atlantic’s Victoria Hensley. Dykes and Hensley rank 11th and 15th in the nation in assists per set, respectively. Dykes enters the week with 10.81 assists per set, while Hensley is averaging 10.70. Hensley is also 6th in the nation in total assists (749).

Memphis sophomore setter, and current American Setter of the Week, Jordan Heatherly has been dangerous while serving this season. She has 30 aces on the season, averaging .48 aces per set. Her .48 aces per set would be the second highest in American history, trailing only Tulsa’s Valerie El Houssine’s average of .52 set in 2014.
TULSA, NORTH TEXAS COLLIDE IN DENTON
With both teams sitting with a 4-2 record and just two games back from the leaders, Tulsa and North Texas will look to make up ground on Friday as the Golden Hurricane will travel to Denton to take on the Mean Green at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
