OFFENSIVE FIRE POWER

East Carolina is off to a hot start offensively, ranking near the top of the nation in multiple offensive categories. The Pirates lead the NCAA in doubles (37), while ranking 7th in batting average (.373) and 14th in on-base percentage (.442) and scoring (7.35 runs per game). Emma Jackson leads the nation in doubles (13) and hits (31), while Morgan Johnson is 6th in the nation in home runs (7) and 3rd in RBI (27).

SHOCKERS TAKE DOWN NO. 15 ARKANSAS
Wichita State went 4-1 last week which included a win over No. 15 Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Shockers used a dominant outing from Chloe Barber in the circle, tossing a complete game and striking out 15 batters. CC Wong knocked in two RBI, while Lainee Brown had one. The win garnered some attention as the Shockers are back to receiving votes in both the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll.

OWLS HIT THE ROAD

Florida Atlantic will finish their 18-game home stretch to start the season on Wednesday night when they host FIU at 4 p.m. in Boca Raton.  The Owls will go on the road for the first time this season, traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas where they will begin a road stretch of eight straight games.

STRIKING OUT THE SIDE

Wichita State freshman pitcher Chloe Barber had two masterful games in the circle last weekend, striking out a combined 31 batters in two games.  Her 16 strikeouts against Illinois State is the second most in a single-game in the country this season, while her 15 against No. 15 Arkansas is the fourth most. She currently leads the nation in strikeouts per seven innings with 14.3.

ON DECK IN THE AMERICAN

Entering the final weekend of non-conference tournament action, American teams will face a plethora of ranked opponents. UAB will take on No. 25 Auburn on Wednesday night. Charlotte will have a pair of games against No. 14 Kentucky, while Wichita State takes on No. 13 Missouri twice.  Florida Atlantic will look to take down No. 15 Arkansas, while North Texas ends the weekend at No. 25 Auburn.
