GOLDEN HURRICANE, SHOCKERS TO FACE OFF

Tulsa and Wichita State are set to face off this weekend in a battle of two top three teams in the league.  Currently tied for third place in The American with 8-4 record, both teams will try to keep pace with Florida Atlantic and North Texas, who sit two games ahead.  The Golden Hurricane and Shockers will begin play on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

PIRATES TAKE MARATHON GAME OVER OWLS
East Carolina and Florida Atlantic embarked on a 14-inning game to begin their series last weekend. After Florida Atlantic tied the game at four in the bottom of the seventh, the two teams went another seven innings before Logan Sutton lifted the Pirates to a 5-4 win. Addy Bullis tossed the final seven innings for East Carolina to earn her seventh win of the season.

WICHITA STATE FLEXING MUSCLE

Wichita State continues to showcase their power hitting into conference. Averaging 1.7 home runs per game, the Shockers are in the top five in the nation in home runs per game. They have hit 50 total in the season, including 27 in conference play – 16 more than the next best team. Addison Barnard and CC Wong have combined for 23 total home runs and rank 17th and 27th in the nation, respectively.

OWLS, 49ERS CLASH IN CHARLOTTE

First place Florida Atlantic will travel to the Queen City to take on third-place Charlotte. at 8-4, the 49ers currently sit two games back from the Owls in The American standings. Florida Atlantic is currently receiving votes in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll, while Charlotte has a league-high three wins over ranked opponents this season. The three-game series will begin on Friday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

AMERICAN IN THE RPI

Charlotte currently leads The American in the RPI at 33, while Wichita State is just behind at 34.  Florida Atlantic sits at 44, while Tulsa (51) and North Texas (54) are just outside the Top 50.
