American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 26.

Player of the Week

Temira Poindexter, Jr., F, Tulsa

Poindexter averaged 26 points per game in three games, scoring 20+ points in all three contests. She scored a weekend-high 29 points in a win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Poindexter was named to the Van Chancellor Classic All-Tournament Team.

Freshman of the Week

Salese Blow, Fr., G, Wichita State

Blow averaged 14.7 points per game to help lead the Shockers to a pair of wins. She began the week with a 19-point outing against Omaha and ended the week scoring 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting against Dayton.

Weekly Honor Roll

Mia Moore, R-So., G, UAB

More scored 21 points and brought down nine rebounds to lead the Blazers to a win over Valparaiso.

Dazia Lawrence, R-Jr., G, Charlotte

Lawrence scored 32 points while going 13-fo-13 at the charity stripe in Charlotte’s win over Southern Illinois.

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin led the Mean Green to a pair of wins, averaging a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Sidney Love, So., G, UTSA

Love scored 18 points and came away with two steals against Texas Tech, while adding 12 points and seven rebounds against Sam Houston.

Daniela Abies, So., F, Wichita State

Abies averaged 15.3 points and eight rebounds to help lead the Shockers to wins over Omaha and Akron.
