American Athletic Conference Announces Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly outdoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, March 17.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Tre’Sean Bouie, Sr., South Florida

Bouie was a part of two top three times nationally at the USF Bulls Alumni Invitational. He ran a 46.07 400-meter, the fastest time in The American and the third fastest in the NCAA, while also running the South Florida’s 4×400 team that ran a 3:05.80, the third fastest in the nation this season.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Kobe Babin, Sr., South Florida

Babin put out a top three clearance in pole vault while competing at the USF Bulls Alumni Invitational.  With a clearance of 5.40 meters, Babin has the third best vault in the nation this season. The clearance also set a new South Florida record.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Joyasia Smith, So., Charlotte

Smith paced the field at the Charlotte 49er Classic, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.48 seconds. Her time is the 8th fastest in the nation this season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Riley Felts, R-Sr., Charlotte

Felts continued her impressive Pole Vault performance from indoor season, clearing a height of 4.43 meters at the Charlotte 49er Classic.  The vault is the top mark in the nation this season.
