American Athletic Conference Announces Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, February 4.

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Shevioe Reid, Sr., South Florida

Reid blazed to a South Florida record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.67.  The time is the 10th fastest in the NCAA this season. He was also part of the 4×400 meter dash that ran a time of 3:07.78, the 20th best time in the NCAA.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Brady Palen, Jr., Wichita State

Palen cleared a height of 2.17 meters in high jump at the Husker Invitational.  His clearance is the 22nd best in the NCAA as of February 4.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Melicia Mouzzon, Sr., East Carolina

Mouzzon ran top two times in East Carolina history in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Her time of 7.30 in the 60-meter dash would be the 31st best time in the nation.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Riley Felts, R-Sr., Charlotte

For a second time this season, Felts has broken The American pole vault record. At the Doc Hale Invitational, Felts cleared 4.44 meters and moved into sole possession of third place in the nation.
