A Message from Wayne Estes Sebring International Raceway President

After weeks and months of preparations for this year’s edition of SuperSebring, the turn of events in March certainly let down a lot of people from across the globe.

It is clear, however, as the nation and the world battle this virus that all parties made the correct decision to reschedule the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring to November.

Sebring International Raceway is silent now. The last of the tents, equipment, teams, and people who gathered to compete or play have left the venue that was so ready to host its 68th endurance classic for the world’s greatest sports cars and drivers.

Sebring’s offices are closed, but the staff continues to work, planning and rescheduling everything to ensure that November’s event will be even bigger than anyone expects.

We are working from our homes, and hope that most of you are, too.  Our partners at AdventHealth, the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and others on the front lines cannot work from home, but in order to stop this pandemic and get back to the life we knew just weeks ago, those of us who can should stay home to prevent the spread.

We are working closely with government agencies, sanctioning bodies, car clubs, and health organizations before we send cars back on track again, and before we host guests ready to see those cars.  We will resume on-track operations when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, while you search for the next old movie, look up old Sebring videos.  There are some phenomenal ones, like Mario Andretti’s incredible drive in not one but two red Ferraris in the 1970 edition, called by many the greatest 12 Hours ever.  Or look up the 1957 12 Hours to see perhaps the sport’s greatest driver Juan Manuel Fangio drive to victory in his Maserati.

Or, if having a piece of memorabilia of an event that didn’t happen is on your list of wants, visit www.sebringpx.com for drastically reduced prices on 2020 March SuperSebring merchandise.  Our souvenir vendor outdid itself this year and produced the greatest line of apparel perhaps in the history of Sebring.

Our guests will see much of the merchandise in November, but first the warehouse needs to clear the shelves of the dated T-shirts and hats from March to make way for these must-haves in November. The prices on the March SuperSebring T-shirts and caps cannot be any lower.

Many of the T-shirts are Comfort Colors cotton, but bright dri-fit shirts are available, too.

So, if you’re spending all your time at home right now, you might as well shop and watch old Sebring videos, say a lot of prayers, and stay in touch with family and friends.

And when this is all over, we will get back to the greatest sports car racing in the world.

Stay safe and protect your neighbors.

Blessings to all of you.
