South Florida Leads Following Round Two of American Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – South Florida jumped into the lead following an impressive round during the second day of the American Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Southern Hills Golf Club.  The Bulls Moved up two spots after shooting 11-under 277 in the second round.

The average score on the second day of play at Southern Hills Plantation Club was 74.83 over the 60 completed rounds. Over the two days, the average score is 74.15.  Tulsa’s Lovisa Gunnar leads all players with 9-uner135 through two rounds, while Ellie Szeryk of SMU is two strokes behind at 7-under 137.

South Florida moved to the top of the leaderboard in round two.  Through two rounds, the Bulls are shooting 18-under 558 and have three of the top seven scorers and all four scorers shooting under par.  Melanie Green leads South Florida at 6-under, 138.

Tulsa improved to second place, shooting 7-under 281 in the second round.  Over the first two rounds, the Golden Hurricane sit at 12-under 564. Tulsa is led by the individual leader Lovisa Gunnar.  Grace Kilcrease is shooting 2-under142 through two rounds.

After a strong first round, SMU fell to third place, shooting 1-over 289 in the second round. The Mustangs are 9-under 567 through two rounds. Ellie Szeryk has the top score for the Mustangs and the second best of all players, while Emily Odwin and Mackenzie Lee have both shot 2-under142 through two rounds.

East Carolina sit in fourth place at 5-under 571 through two rounds.  The Pirates hit 4-over 292 in the second round. Danielle Modder (3-under 141) and Oda Sofie Kilsti (1-under 143) are the top players for the Pirates through two rounds.

UTSA heads into the final round of play in fifth place, shooting 8-over 584 through two rounds.  The Roadrunners shot 14-over 292 in the second round. Camryn Carreon leads all Roadrunners, shooting 1-over 145 through two rounds.

The third and final round of the 2024 American Women’s Golf Championship will be on Wednesday with tee times expected to begin at 8 a.m. (ET). Coverage on ESPN+ will begin at 10 a.m. ET with Lincoln Rose and Ed Clements on the call.
