BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 20 Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team (18-4) returns to the road for a two-game stand. First up is a matchup against UAB (14-8) on Thursday, Feb. 8, tipping off at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN2.For the first time this season, the Owls will take on an opponent for the second time. FAU took down UAB 86-73 on Sunday, Jan. 14 at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. Junior guard Johnell Davis had an explosive performance, scoring 30 points on 5-for-6 shooting from three-point range. It was the second of the current seven-game win streak the team is on.

The Owls are coming off their largest AAC victory, taking down Tulsa, 102-70, at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Saturday, Feb. 3. This marked the third game of the season Florida Atlantic scored over 100 points. A 19-1 run in the first half gave the Owls a comfortable lead going into halftime, which was followed by a 62-point explosion in the second period, the most scored by FAU in a half all season. The night was keyed by all five starters scoring in double figures, led by Davis with 24, junior center Vlad Goldin (18), redshirt junior guard Alijah Martin (16), redshirt sophomore guard Nick Boyd (13), and senior guard Bryan Greenlee (11).

Florida Atlantic leads the AAC in three-point field goal percentage (36.9) and is tied for the lead in field goal percentage (48.8). They are second in points per game (83.4) and assists (15.2)
The Owls are 18th nationwide in effective field goal percentage (.559) and 21st in field goal percentage
Ranked 20th in the nation in scoring, Florida Atlantic is averaging 86.6 points in their 18 victories, which would be fifth in the nation if applied to the whole season
