Valby has now been named conference, region and national athlete of the year in 2023.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The USTFCCCA office announced Monday afternoon that Florida’s Parker Valby has been named the 2023 Lance Harter Women’s National Athlete of the Year.
Award recipients were decided by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches following the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Cross Country season.
The redshirt junior led the Florida Gators through the program’s most successful season in school history as the Gators were crowned SEC Cross Country Champions for the first time since 2012 and recorded the program’s highest finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Valby’s individual success was just as historic.
Not only was Valby crowned the University’s first NCAA Division I Cross Country National Champion, but also recorded a series of accolades for the second consecutive year.
Following this season, the Tampa, Florida native is the back-to-back SEC Individual Champion, All-SEC First Team, SEC Women’s Runner of the Year, NCAA Division I South Region Champion, South Region Women’s Athlete of the Year and Cross Country All-American.
