USF Volleyball: Andrade Tabbed AAC Offensive Player of the Week For Second Time This Season

Irving, Texas, November 6, 2023 – Two months and two days after earning her first career American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Month, outside hitter Maria Clara Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil) earned the title once again after leading the Bulls to two wins against Temple this past weekend.   

Andrade finished the weekend averaging 5.00 kills per set and 5.75 points per set. She had a .359 hitting percentage with 78 attempts and only 12 errors. She led the team with 40 total kills and recorded three service aces over the weekend.  

In Thursday’s five-set thriller, Andrade set a new career-high of 24 kills against the Owls. Her previous high was 23 set against Ball State in her second collegiate match last season. She posted a .400 hitting percentage which is her second highest of the season. Andrade also finished with 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season and the 14th of her career.  

In Friday’s sweep, Andrade posted another double-digit kill performance, finishing with 16. She served two service aces and finished with one solo block.   

UP NEXT 

Andrade and the South Florida Bulls will welcome the East Carolina Pirates this Thursday and Friday for a battle for sole possession of first place in the AAC East. On Friday, Jolene Shepardson will honor the senior class prior to the match.
