MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced the Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18, on Monday afternoon. Nova Southeastern Sharks student-athletes Kate Mihacevich (Volleyball) and Stefane Rosa (Women’s Soccer) earned honors following their performances over the weekend.

Mihacevich, being honored for the first time in her career, was stellar across two matches for NSU. The sophomore totaled 33 kills on the week, while hitting 0.302, to improve the Sharks to 9-2 on the season. Mihacevich recorded a career-best 22 kills in a five-set upset win over reigning NCAA Division II National Champion and current No. 1 ranked Tampa. The Sharks closed out the match on the strength of three consecutive points from Mihacevich, as NSU knocked off Tampa for the second time in three matches.
Rosa, also earning her first Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week award, Rosa receives Defensive Player of the Week honors after tallying 18 saves last week across two conference matches. The junior picked up the clean sheet after seven saves in a 3-0 win against Lynn. Rosa went on to stop 11 shots in a 2-0 loss at Florida Tech. On the season, Rosa has recorded two clean sheets in her first season with the Sharks.
