PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Aleksander Barkov

On Bobrovsky’s shutout:

“He gives us that chance to win every night and it wasn’t any different today. He has always been unbelievable for us. We are real lucky to have him.”

On Jonathan Huberdeau’s record-setting night:

“He is a great guy, a great teammate, linemate, and how lucky we are to have that type of person in our organization. To have him as a leader… it’s a lot of fun to see him take off and make those plays. His vision is next to none. He is a tremendous player I am just amazed at everything he does.”

“Obviously seventy-something assists is unbelievable, but twenty-something goals is not bad either. I’m really amazed to see what he’s doing and I’m just happy to be with him on the ice or on the bench.”

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky

On tonight’s team effort:

“It was a good game. A lot of shots. We played a great team game in all zones, offense, defense, penalty kill. Everything was a solid 60-minute performance.”

On playing on home ice:

“It has been great; we have unbelievable support. The building energizes us, and it is so much fun to play. It is home, and it really feels like home.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On tonight’s home victory:

“[Bobrovsky] was locked in. We knew [Chicago] is a team with a lot of pride, and tonight was a big night for them. And we knew they were going to come out hard and try to win one for Toews there. Bob was outstanding—kept us in the game there at different parts, and we did enough to win.”

On Huberdeau breaking NHL record for most single-season assists by a left wing:

“Yeah, really cool of him to do it at home. Pretty special for a guy that’s been here as long as he has. And to be in the NHL record books is very special. So, I’m happy for him, he deserves it, and he still has a way to go to pad that record.”
