LAKELAND, FL – The Detroit Tigers selected nine players on day two of the MLB First-Year Player Draft, which included rounds two through 10.
Players selected by Detroit over the draft’s first two days include seven RHP, one LHP, one SS and two OF. Nine of the 11 players drafted by the Tigers so far are from college, while two are from high school.
On day one of the draft, the Tigers selected RHPs Jackson Jobe and Ty Madden with the third and 32nd overall picks, respectively. Coming into the 2021 draft, MLB Pipeline ranked Jobe the No. 7 overall prospect and Madden as the ninth-best – making the Tigers the first team since Houston in 2015 to draft two-or-more of the top-10 draft prospects in the same year (Alex Bregman, Daz Cameron and Kyle Tucker).
