St. Petersburg, Fla. – An RBI single in the bottom of the first proved the difference as Lynn University’s softball team dropped the Sunshine State Conference series opener 1-0 to Eckerd on Friday night. Allyson Jameston went the distance in the circle.

· Eckerd needed three singles to open the bottom of the first to get the only run on the scoreboard.
· Jameston would set down 10 of the next batters and ended the game with one run allowed on with one strikeout over six frames.
· Seven different starters connected on the Fighting Knights’ seven hits.
· Nikole Van Gennep collected the win for the Tritons with four K’s in seven shutout innings.

· Shayle Arenson smacked her 11th double of the year, tied for fourth in the SSC.
· Mia Veliz remains tied for first in program history with 16 stolen bases in a single season.
