61 FAU Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal

BOCA RATON, Fla. – (May 8, 2020) – Florida Atlantic University has 61 student-athletes who have earned the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal for the 2019-20 academic year, the conference announced on Friday.

FAU’s total of 61 student-athletes earning the honor is the second highest total for the school since joining C-USA in 2013. 

Student-athletes who earn the Commissioner’s Academic Medal have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA or better are named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, which was released yesterday. 

Beach volleyball and women’s soccer led the Owls with seven members achieving the feat. They were followed closely by softball and women’s golf, each with six players earning the medal.

Florida Atlantic University Athletics:

FAU Athletics is comprised of 21 intercollegiate teams involving 450 student-athletes that compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball, beach volleyball, cheer and dance.
