4 Detroit Lions have made the Pro Bowl

4 Detroit Lions have made the Pro Bowl
By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

So when the Pro Bowl Roster was announced in December, only one lone Lion player was on it. Frank Ragnow the All Pro Center (top 3 by PFF), and deservedly so. But there were nine alternates on the list.

So the playoffs, and the 2022-23 Season is almost over and the Pro Bowl will be this weekend, as well as the College Senior Bowl. This saddens me, because NCAA and the NFL are literally the best of the two versions of football in America (especially since the Lingerie Football League is done, I’m joking).  So we will have that 4-6 week lull in sports news.

But, now that we know the Chiefs will be facing off against the Eagles in Phoenix at the Super Bowl. The alternates get added to the roster. Penei Sewell RT, Amon-Ra St. Brown WR, and Jared Goff QB1. It has been awhile since the Lions have been this represented in the Pro Bowl. And I couldn’t be prouder of our Cardiac Cats!

As a matter of fact, 1970-71 season was the last time the Lions had four offensive players make the Pro Bowl. And this is only the 2nd time a Lions QB has been to the Pro Bowl in the last 50 years!
