Ramya Meenakshisundaram posted four top-10 finishes and placed in the top 25 in eight of 10 events this season.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native earned co-medalist honors at the Florida Challenge and set numerous program season records.

TAMPA, APRIL 19, 2019 – USF’s Ramya Meenakshisundaram was rewarded for her fantastic freshman season by being named to the 2019 American Athletic All-Conference Women’s Golf Team.

Meenakshisundaram became the first Bull to earn all-conference honors since 2016 after setting program season records (since 1993-94) for scoring average (73.0) and par-4 scoring average (4.11) while matching the Bulls’ top mark for rounds of par of better (12).

“Players like Ramya are the future of this program. Her work ethic is unmatched and she cares deeply for her team and this university,” head coach Erika Brennan said. “We are thrilled that she has earned this prestigious honor to cap her impressive freshman campaign.”

Aside from making USF single-season history, Meenakshisundaram matched the program’s low 54-hole total by carding an 8-under 208 at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic (Feb. 24-26). The Jacksonville, Fla., native was named conference player of the week following her second runner-up finish of the season.

Meenakshisundaram tied for the team lead with four top-10 finishes this season and earned co-medalist honors in the spring opener at the Florida Challenge. She carded a career best 4-under 68 at the event to help the Bulls capture their first of two tournament titles this season.

Meenakshisundaram tied for 23rd place at The American Championship, which increased her team leading top-25 finish total to eight out of 10 events.

“The sky is the limit for her and she has completely taken ownership of her technical game as well as her mental game,” Brennan said. “She’s a dream to coach and we are proud of her.”
