CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (9-11, 4-7 ACC) fell, 4-0, to the No. 6 UNC Tarheels (19-4, 10-1 ACC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Hurricanes dropped the doubles point and fell short in singles to finish the match.
On court two, Jaquelyn Ogunwale and Aely Arai fell 6-0 to No. 13 Carson Tanguilig and Susanna Maltby, followed by a 6-2 loss at the top court from No. 49 Alexa Noel and Raquel Gonzalez over No. 8 Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton.
UNC’s Hamilton took a quick 6-0, 6-2 win on court four over Aely Arai, followed by a 6-4, 6-1 victory from No. 46 Tanguilig against Vargas on court five.
The Hurricanes ultimately fell once Volosova lost court six, 6-4, 6-2, to Claire Hill.
Miami will face Duke tomorrow for the last regular season match.
