INDIANAPOLIS – The Wright State-Youngstown State men’s basketball game scheduled for Friday, Jan. 8 has been selected to be televised on ESPN2, the League office was informed by ESPN this week. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
The matchup features the top two teams in the Horizon League preseason poll with the Raiders being tabbed the preseason favorites and the Penguins coming in at No. 2. Wright State is the defending regular season champions and have already begun the League season strong with a 4-0 start. Youngstown State has already played once on ESPN2 earlier this season as it earned a 70-60 victory on the road thanks to a strong second half surge and were led by Naz Bohannon with 19 points and Michael Akuchie registering a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.
This is the first of four consecutive Fridays that will feature a #HLMBB game on ESPN linear networks and is a part of the League’s “Anything Can Happen on Friday” campaign that fans can follow along on social media by using #FRIDAYisHLMBB
Continuing a relationship that began during the 2014-15 season, ESPN+ and ESPN3 will be the home for the League’s live streaming game content. The Horizon League has scheduled to stream every conference basketball game for an industry-best 14 consecutive seasons, beginning its streak in 2007 with the groundbreaking Horizon League Network.
