BIRMINGHAM – Conference USA announced that Asha Zuniga is the league’s Defensive Player of the Week.
The senior captain scored the game-winning goal in UAB’s 1-0 season-opening victory over Chattanooga and anchored a defensive line that only allowed one goal in two matches last week.
This is Zuniga’s second DPOW honor as she took home the award on Oct. 19, 2021.
UAB (1-0-1) returns to PNC Field to face Kennesaw State on Aug. 25. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. This match is Mental Health Awareness night.
The 2022-23 Gold Card for $65 here. The 2021-22 Gold Card will get you access to all home events for Women’s Soccer, Men’s Soccer, Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for Conference USA or NCAA Championship events.
