9/12/2024 | Women’s Soccer | Box Score DENTON, Texas – Florida Atlantic’s women’s soccer team fell to North Texas in the first American Athletic Conference matchup of the season on Thursday evening. The Owls close out the night with a 1-0 loss against the Mean Green. Florida Atlantic moves to 0-5-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play after the match. Captain goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez was back in goal for the Owls tonight. North Texas scored in the first ten minutes of the match to take the lead. In the first half, both teams were tied in shots on goal at three each. The defense for Florida Atlantic did a great job at limiting the shots for North Texas throughout the night. Both teams ended the night with 11 shots each. The Owls had more shots on goal on the night as they registered six and the Mean Green only recorded one that went in goal. In the second half, Florida Atlantic totaled eight shots and held North Texas to three shots.
