WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The reigning NCAA national champion Nova Southeastern began their 2024 fall schedule on Friday, taking on the St. Thomas Bobcats at the PBA Invitational. NSU won all three doubles contests and 7-of-8 singles matches.
DOUBLES
- Priscila Janikian and Kristyna Hranacova earned a 6-3 victory.
- Sofia Shing and Isabella Ciancaglini won their match 6-2
- Sofia Carpi and Ita Habekovic sealed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win.
SINGLES
- Sofia Shing won 6-0, 6-0 in her singles match
- Kristyna Hranacova added a 6-1, 6-1 win
- Isabella Ciancaglini was victorious 6-2, 6-2
- Priscila Janikian won 6-1, 6-0
- Ita Habekovic earned a 6-2, 6-4 win
- Maya Benaich won 6-2, 6-2
Head Coach Doug Neagle – “It’s so nice to start competing right away in the fall to see where we are. We saw a lot of positives and we saw things to improve on. It’s extremely hot, so it’s a tough test for all the teams here. We are looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”
