Women’s Golf – #9 Sharks Remain in lead after round two at SSC Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The ninth-ranked Nova Southeastern University Women’s Golf team continued play in the Sunshine State Conference Championships at Mission Resort + Club’s Colinas Course on Monday. The Sharks, led by Ariana Carvalho (T-2nd/+1) and Maria Torres (4th/+2) increased their lead in the tournament to seven-strokes.

How it Happened
  • Ariana Carvalho (T-2nd/75) tallied two birdies on the front nine with five pars. During the back nine Carvalho recorded another birdie and four pars, with consecutive pars to finish the round. Ending day two at four-over.
  • Maria Torres (4th/70) carried over a fantastic ending from yesterday into round two by shooting par or better on eight of the first nine holes. On the back nine Torres recorded three birdies and four pars to finish the day one-under.
  • Lua Pousa Dacasa (T-10th/73) started round two with a great rhythm with a birdie and five pars on the first six holes. Pousa Dacasa added nine pars to her total through the round to finish the day two-over.
  • Haruka Muta (T-14th/73) tallied two birdies and 12 pars in her second round, shooting two-over for the day.
  • Rosanna Halls (T-22nd/72) had a great start to the day shooting par or better on 12 consecutive holes to begin the day, with two birdies. Halls added six pars to her total to finish the day one-over.
