Women’s Golf – #3 Sharks Claim Spot at NCAA National Championship

CLEVELAND, TN. – The third-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women’s Golf team has clinched a spot at the NCAA National Championship, placing fifth at the NCAA South Super Regional at the Cleveland Country Club on Wednesday afternoon. NSU (+28/297/297/298) will be joined at the NCAA National Championship by Anderson, Lynn, Flagler, and Lee.

How it Happened
  • Haruka Muta began her final round with a birdie, but followed with bogeys on six-of-seven holes, before closing the front-nine with a par. Muta settled in on the back-nine, recording pars on eight-of-nine holes, including closing the tournament with five consecutive to end the round with a 77. 
  • Maia Samuelsson had her best round of the NCAA South Regional on Wednesday, posting a 71 and jumping 10 spots up the final leader board. Samuelsson shot a bogey-free front-nine and following the turn, added three straight pars. After tallying a bogey on 13, Samuelsson responded with back-to-back birdies. Samuelsson shot a 71 in her final round, ending the tournament tied for 24th. 
  • Jimena Marques posted a 75 for the third consecutive round, ending the tournament with a total of 15 pars. 
  • Ellen Ramstedt provided a steady performance for the Sharks in the final round. Ramstedt had three bogeys across the front-nine, but closed the tournament with seven pars and a birdie across the final eight holes. 
  • Ellen Andersson was the final Sharks women’s golfer to tee off in the third round of the NCAA South Super Regional. Andersson posted a 79 in the final round, as the Sharks advanced to the NCAA National Championship.
