WORLD GOLF VILLAGE, Fla. – The top-ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf team began play for its 2024 season on Monday, playing at the World Golf Invitational. The Sharks (+13) are tied with both Lander and West Florida for second-place, while Hannah Mitterberger (E) is tied for third-place midway through the second round.
Maia Samuelsson (T2nd/-2), Hannah Mitterberger (T15th/+1), and Jimena Marques (T18th/+2) all ranked inside the top-20 following the first round.
The second round of the World Golf Invitational was suspended due to darkness and will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5th.

- Maia Samuelsson ended the first round tied for second in the field and shot a 70 (-2). Samuelsson parred the first five holes on the course and birdied the sixth-hole before finishing a bogey-free front-nine. She closed the first round with an additional birdie, on the 14th hole, and bogeyed 17.
- Hannah Mitterberger bogeyed the first hole, but responded by parring each of the four. Following a second bogey on hole six, Mitterberger closed the front-nine with a pair of pars and a birdie. Mitterberger carried the momentum into the back-nine, adding another pair of birdies, while shooting a 36 over the final nine holes.
- Jimena Marques shot one over on both the front and back-nines during her first round. Marques recorded one birdie and totaled 14 pars in the round.
- Ellen Andersson (+4) started the tournament with a birdie on the first hole and tallied four birdies in her opening round.
- Ellen Ramstedt (+5) added one birdie and recorded 12 pars in the round.
