Winners Announced for the Sixth-Annual Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest Presented by Florida Blue and South Florida Fair


BOCA RATON, FL (October 21, 2019) – Winners are officially announced for the Sixth- Annual Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest, after receiving 1,500 entries. The bowl continues its partnership with the Palm Beach County School District offering the students the opportunity to showcase some of their finest artwork and experience the only NCAA Division I College Football bowl game played in Palm Beach County. Presented by Florida Blue and the South Florida Fair, the contest provides students with the opportunity to learn about football and the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.


Elementary Division Winners:
 First Place: Lila Mackenzie, Beacon Cove Intermediate
 Second Place: Victoria McDonald, Binks Forest Elementary
 Third Place: Christian Princilus, Glade View Elementary

Middle School Division Winners:
 First Place: Camila Castro, Omni Middle School
 Second Place: Lily Ames, Woodlands Middle School
 Third Place: Mayra Perez, Woodlands Middle School

High School Division Winners:
 First Place: Katerin H., John I Leonard High School
 Second Place: Valerie Gonzales, Spanish River High School
 Third Place: Jamarii Coleman, Wellington High School

Winning students will be awarded with a four pack of tickets to the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl on Saturday, December 21, and a Mega-Saver pass to the 2020 South Florida Fair. Additionally, winning students will be honored and recognized at the bowl game’s Head Coaches Press Conference and on the field on game day. First place students also receive a $500 donation, courtesy of Florida Blue, that will be given to their respective school’s art program.
“This is the sixth year we’ve worked with Florida Blue and the South Florida Fair to support Palm Beach County’s art programs through this contest. The entries were once again incredible; all of the participating students displayed remarkable talents,” said Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley.
The top three winners from the high school, middle school and elementary school levels will be honored during the Art Design Contest Winner Recognition Event held at the Florida Blue Center in Boynton Beach on Thursday, November 7, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
About the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl: 2019 Game Moves to New Day, Time and Network
After spending five years on the Tuesday evening before Christmas and being aired on ESPN, the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl will kick off in the Florida sunshine on Saturday afternoon, December 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium and will broadcast nationally on ABC as well as on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3 FM. The bowl game has conference tie-ins with teams from Conference USA, the American Athletic Conference and the Mid- American Athletic Conference.
As one of 41 postseason college bowl games in the country and one of 15 owned and operated by ESPN Events (a division of ESPN) the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl is the only one hosted in Palm Beach County. As a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County that lives up to its other name, ‘Boca’s Biggest Annual Outdoor Party’, the event features all the pomp and circumstance of traditional bowl events. It is a high-energy, entertaining experience for both college football fans and non-fans alike and allows the national spotlight to shine on Boca Raton and Palm Beach County.
