IRVING, Texas – American Athletic Conference volleyball champion Wichita State will travel to Dallas, Texas to take on No. 2 seed SMU in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship, announced on the NCAA Volleyball Championship Selection Show on Sunday night.
Wichita State (18-13) earned The American’s automatic bid for the NCAA Volleyball Championship after sweeping all three opponents in the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championship. They will travel to Dallas, Texas to take on host and No. 2 seed SMU (24-7) on Thursday, December 5 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ESPN+. The winner will face the winner of No. 7 Missouri (20-8) and Texas State (22-8).
This marks the 12th appearance in the NCAA Volleyball Championship and the first since 2017.
