Rice is on a four-game skid after dropping contests against Florida Atlantic, Tulane, South Florida, and Wichita State. As a team, Rice ranks in the top 5 in the AAC in a few categories. The Owls rank second in the AAC in defensive rebounds per game (28.4) and rebounds per game (40.3), third in assist/turnover ratio (0.9), free throw percentage (.713), and rebounding margin (4.5), fourth in assists per game (14.2), bench points per game (18.7), and 3-point attempts per game (20.0), and fifth in field goal percentage (.409), 3-point percentage defense (.307), 3-pointers per game (6.2), and fewest turnovers per game (16.1). Rice’s offensive leaders are Malia Fisher and Dominique Ennis, averaging 14.2 and 12.1 points per game this season, respectively. Victoria Flores leads the team in assists, dishing out a team-leading 2.8 assists per game. Flores also leads the Owls in steals with 34, averaging 1.4 steals per game, while Ennis ranks second with 33, also averaging 1.4 steals per contest.The Owls are led on the glass by Hailey Adams, who is averaging a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game. However, the Owls have won the last two meetings between the two teams, including a 66-61 win earlier this season on Feb. 1 in Boca Raton. LAST TIME OUT: VS. SOUTH FLORIDA The Owls came up short in a 74-62 battle against the South Florida Bulls on Saturday in Boca Raton. Mya Perry led the way for the Owls with her ninth career and sixth 20-point game this season, posting a team-high 22 points, shooting 44 percent (8-of-18) from the field and 38 percent (5-of-13) from beyond the arc, while also pulling down four boards and getting a steal. Stefanie Ingram and Jada Moore rounded out the Owls’ double-figure scorers with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Ingram shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field and 33 percent (1-of-3) from 3-point range, while Moore finished 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field and a perfect 100 percent (3-of-3) at the line. Ingram and Moore also tied for a team-leading seven rebounds, and Ingram finished with a team-leading five assists. Ta’Ziah Jenks led the Owls in steals, recording three in the contest. The Owls outscored the Bulls 21-15 in the second. Florida Atlantic held advantages in points in the paint, 32-28, and points off turnovers, 15-14.
