BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Owls are set to tip off the 2024-25 season on the road Monday, heading to Gainesville to face off against the Florida Gators. First Serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center and on SEC Network+.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: AT A GLANCE
- The Florida Atlantic Owls enter their 41st season as a program and their fourth under head coach Jennifer Sullivan in 2024-25.
- The Owls return five from the 2023-24 squad, highlighted by double-figure scorers Jada Moore and Mya Perry. Moore is the Owls’ returning statistical leader in rebounding (5.9 rpg), assists (2.3 apg), and steals (1.2 spg). Perry is the team’s returning statistical leader in scoring (11 ppg), 3-point field goal percentage (.386), and 3-pointers (66). The Owls also return Maria Myklebust, Kristina Godfrey, and Evie Van Der Woude.
- Florida Atlantic also welcomes eight newcomers for the 2024-25 season, including transfers Stefanie Ingram, Ta’Ziah Jenks, and Zahira Arizmendi, and five true freshmen, including Erin Rodgers, Alana Rouser, Lovisa Asbrink Hose, Sydney Mains, and Emaya Lewis.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
- The Gators enter their 4th season under head coach Kelly Rae Finley in 2024-25. Finley has helped lead the Gators to a 56-42 (.571) record during her three seasons in Gainesville.
- Florida returns seven players, highlighted by double-figure scorer Shaya Ra Kyle, in addition to welcoming five newcomers, including Louisville transfer Alexia Gassett and four true freshmen in Kylee Kitts, Me’Arah O’Neal, Daviane Mindoudi Ongbakahoumb, and Liv McGill.
- Florida finished the 2023-24 season with a 16-16 overall record and a 7-12 mark in SEC play.
- The Gators were selected to finish 14th out of 16 in the Southeastern Conference coaches poll this season. The SEC media poll placed the Gators slightly higher, finishing ninth in the league.
SERIES HISTORY
- Florida Atlantic trails 1-7 all-time against Florida and has yet to secure a win in Gainesville, 0-5. The Gators have won the last four meetings between the two programs, with the Owls earning their last win over Florida on Feb. 16, 1993, capturing an 84-63 win in Boca Raton. In the last meeting between the two programs, Florida won 88-76 on Dec. 7, 2020, in Gainesville.

- Following Monday’s season opener, the Owls will return to Paradise on Saturday, Nov. 9, hosting the Mercer Bears to open up their 2024-25 home slate. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
