SCOUTING CHARLOTTE Charlotte enters Saturday’s contest at 8-17 overall and 3-11 in AAC play. The 49ers are on a two-game skid after dropping contests against East Carolina, 63-45, and South Florida, 70-52. As a team, the 49ers lead the AAC in bench points per game (24.6), in addition to ranking second in free throw attempts per game (18.5), third in free throws made per game (13.0), and fifth in free throw percentage (.704) and steals per game (8.1). The 49ers are led offensively by Hayleigh Breland and Keanna Rembert, averaging 11.2 and 10.5 points per game, respectively. Rembert leads the 49ers on the glass, averaging a team-best 5.6 boards per game, while Breland ranks second on the team with 4.9 rebounds per contest. Kay Kay Green is the 49ers assists and steals leader, dishing out 3.0 assists per game and collecting 1.4 steals per contest. Breland ranks second on the team in assists and steals, tallying 2.6 assists per game and 1.0 steals per contest for Charlotte. LAST TIME OUT: AT RICE Florida Atlantic fell in a 72-39 decision against the Rice Owls on Tuesday. Jada Moore and Mya Perry led the way for the Owls. Moore scored a team-leading 12 points, shooting 33 percent (4-of-12) from the floor and going a perfect 100 percent (4-of-4) at the line. She also added five boards, an assist, a steal, and a block. Perry finished with 10 points, shooting 33 percent from 3-point range, and adding two boards. Alana Rouser tallied a team-best six rebounds and two blocks.
