BOCA RATON, Fla. – Leading the Owls to a huge 16-point win over the East Carolina, Lovisa Asbrink Hose was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, and Mya Perry earned AAC Honorable Mention honors.
The awards mark the Owls’ sixth and seventh weekly awards, as well as the first career award for Asbrink Hose and the second for Perry.
Lovisa Asbrink Hose had the best game of her season so far, helping lead the Owls to a dominant 16-point win, 64-48, over the East Carolina Pirates. Asbrink Hose scored a season-best seven points, shooting 33 percent (2-of-6) from the field, 100 percent (1-of-1) from beyond the arc, and 100 percent (2-of-2) from the line, while also pulling down a career-high seven boards, to go along with a block and a steal in the win.
Mya Perry had a career week, leading the Owls to an impressive 64-48 over the East Carolina Pirates. Perry led the Owls offensively with a career-best 29 points, shooting 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field, 50 percent (4-of-8) from 3-point range, and 83 percent (5-of-6) from the line. Perry also tied for a career-high and team-leading four steals, in addition to adding a board in the win.
UP NEXT
The Owls return home on Wednesday, Jan. 8, to kick off a two-game homestand beginning with the Temple Owls. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena and on ESPN+.
