With Springsteen, it’s been 15. But we’re also doing it for charity. The event will benefit the AMA Pro Flat Track Rookie Class of ’79 and Friends, which has been providing a helping hand to injured riders in their time of need. So it will be a great night of racing and for a good cause.” Riding gear including helmets, boots, number plates and autographed steel shoes will be available for auction after the event through www.rookies79.com. “There are few things we can think of more exciting and entertaining than seeing three of our Hall of Famers racing against some of today’s best riders,” said MSHFA President George Levy. “A once-in-a-lifetime event. We’ll be watching Tuesday night for sure.” The night before the races fans can watch a free roundtable discussion between riders on FITE. Old rivalries will be renewed as riders talk about the history of flat track and no doubt throw in a little pre-race smack-talk as well. The Flattrack FITE Klub Roundtable takes place Monday, June 8, at 7 p.m. EDT. About the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America: The MSHFA is the only hall of fame that honors all of American motorsports: cars, motorcycles, airplanes, off road and powerboats. Its mission is to celebrate and instill the American values of leadership, creativity, originality, teamwork and spirit of competition found in motorsports. It was founded by Larry G. Ciancio and Ronald A. Watson and conducted its first induction in 1989. Watson spent the next 30 years tirelessly building it into the nation’s premier motorsports hall of fame until his sudden passing in 2019. The original museum in Novi, Mich., relocated to Daytona Beach, Fla., in 2016 and greets more than 100,000 visitors a year. The MSHFA is operated by the nonprofit Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame of America Foundation, Inc.
