4/13/2025 | Women’s Golf BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women’s golf will compete in its second American Athletic Conference Championship beginning Monday at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, Florida. The event format consists of three days and 54 holes of stroke play. Wednesday’s final round will be broadcast live on ESPN+ at noon Eastern. The Lineup The Owls will use a lineup featuring two sophomores and three freshmen. Sophomore Charlotte Perkins finished 14th in last year’s AAC Championship. The Australian leads the Owls with a 75.17 scoring average. Giulia Scarcello also returns for her second trip around Southern Hills after tying for 42nd in 2024. Nancy Cox, Maddie Rathjen, and Amelia Cobb have each had flashes of brilliance in their debut collegiate seasons in Paradise. Cox is coming off her best finish, a tie for 19th, two weeks ago in Arizona. Rathjen also had a strong showing in the desert, firing a 69 in the second round en route to a tie for 38th. Cobb’s best spring finish came at the Paradise Invitational in February when she hovered around par for all three days, eventually tying for 41st. The Owls will be paired with UAB and Wichita State for Monday’s first round. The course will play as a par-72 and measure out at 6,289 yards. Southern Hills was designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye and opened for play in 2006. The club has hosted both PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school tournaments and served as the 2024 Monday qualifier site for the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor. The Field At No. 60 in the official Clippd team rankings, East Carolina is the highest-ranked team in the field. Tulsa (66), North Texas (69), Charlotte (81), and UTSA (93) are also inside the Top 100. The full field consists of 11 teams and 55 individuals.
