FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball, under the direction of Head Coach Kacie Ehinger, have released their 2024 schedule. NSU has qualified for the NCAA regional tournament in each of the last three seasons, with two appearances under Ehinger since taking over the program.
“I can’t wait to start the 2024 campaign! We have a solid group of returning players who have a lot of matches under their belt mixed with some exciting newcomers,” said Ehinger. “Being able to get our Ohio student athletes to their home state to open the season is special, while also playing some tough competition. I believe our non-conference schedule will set us up for the rigors of the always tough SSC and I can’t wait to see what this group can do.”
The Sharks begin the season on the road, traveling across the country, to compete in three tournaments. In their opening weekend, NSU will take on East Stroudsburg and Ashland on September 6th, before facing West Liberty and D’Youville on September 7th, in the Ashland Invite in Ohio. The following week, Nova Southeastern returns to Florida, competing against Belmont Abbey and Flagler on September 13th, and Central Oklahoma on September 14th, in the Flagler Invite in St. Augustine. NSU’s final regular season tournament is in Cleveland, Tennessee, where the Sharks will match up against Quincy (9/20), Lee (9/20), and North Greenville (9/21).
Nova Southeastern begins Sunshine State Conference play on September 27th, before making their long-awaited return to the Rick Case Arena to host Florida Tech on September 28th. The Sharks then travel to Daytona Beach, to take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles on October 1st and then are back home for a pair of SSC matches against Palm Beach Atlantic (10/4) and Lynn (10/5).
Continuing SSC play, the Sharks match-up against Barry (10/10) and welcome Saint Leo (10/18) and Eckerd (10/19) to the Rick Case Arena. NSU takes on Florida Tech on October 22nd in Melbourne, before returning home for their longest home stand of the season, hosting Florida Southern (10/25), Tampa (10/26) and Embry-Riddle (10/29). In November, the Sharks travel to Lynn (11/1) and Palm Beach Atlantic (11/2), host Barry (11/9), go on the road to play Eckerd (11/15) and Saint Leo (11/16). Nova Southeastern’s final home match of the 2024 regular season will be against Rollins on November 19th, before concluding the regular season on the road against Tampa (11/22) and Florida Southern (11/23).
The NCAA South Region Tournament will be held from December 5th through 7th, with the NCAA National Championship Tournament being held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from December 12th through the 14th.
