8/7/2024 | Women’s Volleyball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic volleyball head coach Fernanda Nelson officially named Noelle Stephens and Katelynn Robine as the team’s captains for the 2024 season.”We’re thrilled to announce our captains for the 2024 season,” expressed Nelson. “These incredible individuals have been instrumental to our volleyball team over the past three seasons, consistently strengthening our culture and leading by example. Their remarkable dedication and selfless commitment on and off the court have set the standard for us all.”Stephens was important in powering the Owls’ offense during her junior year in 2023. She played in 62 sets over 24 matches and was named to the Owls Paradise Classic All-Tournament Team. She ranked second on the team in assists, dishing out 217 and averaging 3.50 per set. Stephens also finished the season with 82 digs and six service aces. She dished out a season-high 27 assists in the Owls four-set win against FDU on Aug. 26 and tallied a season-high 12 digs against Temple on Sept. 24. Robine was an offensive powerhouse during her junior season with the Owls. She was named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, competed in 109 sets over 32 matches, and made 22 starts for the Owls. Robine ranked second for the Owls in kills per set, averaging 2.35, and finished third on the team in total kills with 256. She was fourth on the team with 20 service aces and recorded 69 digs and 17 blocks during the 2023 season. She tallied a season-best 20 kills and seven digs at Charlotte on November 12 and tied a career-best six service aces against Bethune-Cookman on September 9. “I am so excited to watch them lead our strong FAU volleyball team to a special year,” stated Nelson. The Owls 2024 season will officially begin on August 30 as they host their season-opening FAU Invitational.
