BOCA RATON, Fla. – After helping lead the Owls to a 2-1 weekend at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, earning a pair of sweeps against Seton Hall and Ball State, Valeria Rosado was named AAC Honorable Mention on Monday, announced by the league office Monday.
The honor marks the first weekly award of the season for the Owls and Rosado’s second career weekly honorable mention accolade.
Valeria Rosado led the Owls offensively during their season-opening Florida Atlantic Invitational. Rosado posted a team-leading 40 kills, averaging 3.64 per set, in addition to recording a team second-best 29 digs, tallying 2.64 per set, and added five blocks and three service aces. She recorded her first and second double-doubles of the season during the Owls’ first two matches. In the season-opener, Rosado finished with a team second-best 15 kills and added a season-high 11 digs, a pair of service aces, and a block. Against Seton Hall, Rosado notched her second double-double, leading the Owls with a season-high 15 kills and recording 10 digs, in addition to three blocks and an assist. She then finished the week with 10 kills, eight digs, a block, and a service ace in the Owls’ weekend finale against Ball State.

The Owls close out their season-opening homestand tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 3, as they host rival FIU for a 6 p.m. first serve inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
