TAMPA, FLA., March 14, 2024 – The University of South Florida women’s golf team heads to Arizona as they continue their Spring schedule at the Mountain View Collegiate. The No. 42-ranked Bulls have finished in the top four in six of seven events in the 2023-24 season.
The Bulls, who won both their first Fall and Spring tournaments of the season, are led by head coach Erika Brennan in her sixth full season.
In Tucson, South Florida will compete in a field in which 13 of the 15 teams are ranked in the Top 85. Along with (42) USF, the field includes (6) Arkansas, Arkansas State, (33) Houston, (47) Iowa State, co-host (58) Kansas State, (55) Minnesota, co-host (82) Missouri, (53) Oklahoma, Southern Mississippi, (67) TCU, (38) Tennessee, (17) Texas A&M, (44) Tulsa and (62) UNLV.
The tournament will start with 18 holes on Friday, March 15, continue with 18 holes on Saturday, March 16 and conclude with 18 holes on Sunday, March 17. Tee times for Friday and Saturday are set for 10:45 a.m. ET with a shotgun start on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. ET.
The Bulls will be led by returning senior Melanie Green, ranked No. 36 nationally, who tied her career-best and program record round of 64 (-8) in the final round at the Westbrook Invitational to earn AAC Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second time in the Spring. Green captured her second individual win as a Bull in the FAU Paradise Invitational, earning AAC Women’s Golfer of the Week honors. She was named the AAC Women’s Golfer of the Month for September and October.
Last time out at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, Green shot par or better in in all three rounds. She has shot rounds of par or better in 20 of 21 chances this season. Green opened the Valspar with an even-par 72, came back with a 71 (-1) and closed with a 72 (E) to move up three spots on the leaderboard. Green tied for the lead in scoring on the par five’s at -8.
Joining the charge for the Bulls are senior Alizee Vidal, who set career-best records for low 54-hole score 208 (-8) and low round 68 (-4) in the final round, in which she posted six birdies, at the Westbrook Invitational, graduate transfer Alyssa Montgomery, who recorded her first top 10 finish at USF at the Dale McNamara Invitational, freshman Emma Falcher who posted two top 10 finishes in her first action as a Bull in the Fall, and junior Leonor Medeiros, who has three top 10 finishes this season.

The 2023-24 campaign will be the Bulls’ sixth full season under head coach Erika Brennan. South Florida is among the fastest-rising programs in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan’s first season in 2018-19 and have captured four tournament titles under Brennan, while setting numerous program scoring records under her leadership. Senior standout Melanie Green has been an all-conference performer in each of her first three seasons, qualified for the 2022 NCAA Regional as an individual and was named a 2023 All-American Honorable Mention. Green and the Bulls reached the NCAA Regional as a team in 2023, marking the program’s first postseason appearance in 11 years.
