USF WBB: Romi Levy Posts Season-High 21 Points In Bulls Victory Over UTSA, 75-63

Tampa, Fla. – Jan. 29, 2025 – Redshirt senior guard Romi Levy put up a season-high 21 points in South Florida women’s Basketballs (14-8, 7-2), 75-63, win against UTSA (17-3, 8-1) in the Yuengling Center on Wednesday Night. The Bulls ended the Roadrunner’s 10-game winning streak and handed the visitors their first league loss and third defeat of the season.

Graduate guard Sammie Puisis (16 points) connected on a pair of 3-pointers, which marked her 17 game of the season with two or more triples. Junior forward Carla Brito stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists, along with a single steal and block. Senior forward L’or Mputu led all glass crashers with 10 rebounds and three blocks, which is her seventh double-digit rebounding performance of the year and second game of the season with three or more blocks. Graduate guard Mama Dembele dished out a season-high 11 assists (20th game of three or more assists this season.

UTSA was led by Cheyenne Rowe with 15 points, four rebounds and a single steal.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

The game featured six ties and four lead changes. The Bulls grabbed their largest lead of night late in the fourth quarter. A layup from Levy gave USF its first double-digit lead of the night with 3:35 left, 69-58. Then with 58 tickets left, Brito extended South Florida’s lead to 14 points as the squad held on for the Victory.
