Philadelphia, Pa. – Feb. 10, 2024 – South Florida women’s basketball (14-11, 6-6) fell short in its 59-55 to Temple (13-10, 7-4) inside the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday afternoon.
Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy led all scorers with 26 points, which marked her sixth 20-plus point performance of the season. Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt added her second straight double-double with 13 points and a career-high 19 boards. Sophomore wing Carla Brito (12 points) rounded out the Bulls in double-figures.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
- Aerial Wilson (455 Career Assists) is now tied in 9th with Katie Lou Samuelson (UConn, 2015-19) on the AAC Career Assists ledger.
- For the fourth straight game, three Bulls have scored in double-figures. USF is 6-3 when three performers finish in double-digit points.
- Brito joined the 500-point club, and Levy joined the 600-point club.
- Temple defeated the Bulls for the first time since January 2020, but South Florida still holds a 17-4 all-time advantage.

South Florida returns home to the Yuengling Center for a matchup with Wichita State on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the game will stream live on ESPN+.

AAC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS
For the fourth consecutive year, The American’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will be contested at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Both Championships expand to 14 teams this season with The Women’s Championship running March 9-13. Ticket packages for the Women’s Championship will be $85 per package. South Florida women’s basketball recorded its 11th 20-win season during the 2022-23 campaign. USF has made 18 postseason tournament appearances and had nine NCAA Tournament berths in head coach Jose Fernandez’s 23 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to 11 20-win seasons, two WNIT final four appearances, the 2009 WNIT championship, has won over 400 career games, and is the all-time wins leader in the American Athletic Conference.
