USF WBB: Blasigh’s First Career Double-Double Leads Bulls To Victory Against Jacksonville, 75-57

Tampa, Fla. – Nov. 20, 2024 – Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh scored 19 of her season-best 24 points in the fourth quarter in South Florida women’s basketball’s (4-2), 75-57, win against Jacksonville (3-2), on Wednesday night in the Yuengling Center. Blasigh also grabbed a career-best 10 boards on the glass, noting her first career double-double.

Graduate guard Sammie Puisis (19-points) was the second performer to finish the night in double-figures, tonight marked the fifth time this season she has finished with double-figure points. Junior forward Carla Brito matched a career-best 11 rebounds. Graduate guard Mama Dembele (7 assists) and junior guard Janette Aarnio (career-best six assists) combined for 13 total assists. The Green and Gold dished out 21 assists on 25 made field-goals.

The Dolphins were led by 19 points from senior guard Edyn Battle and a double-double performance from sophomore forward Saniyah Craig (13 points and 12 rebounds).

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

South Florida used an explosive fourth-quarter, outscoring Jacksonville, 27-14, to secure the Bull’s win. Blasigh put up 19 points in the final 10 minutes of action, shooting 5-of-5 from three-point land, which expanded USF’s lead to as high as 18 points.
