IRVING, Texas, January 16, 2024 – The University of South Florida softball team was voted to finish fourth in the Preseason Coaches’ American Athletic Conference Poll, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The Bulls finished third in the 2023 season with a 32-24 overall record, 10-7 in the AAC. They return 16 players from last season’s team and add 14 to the 2024 team.
Wichita State was voted to finish first, followed by newcomers Charlotte and North Texas. Wichita State and Charlotte are the only two AAC teams to have made it to Regionals in 2023.
The AAC welcomes the addition of five new teams to the conference in UAB, Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, and UTSA this season. With the addition of the five teams, the AAC will have a 10-team conference. Along with the Bull, East Caroling, Memphis, Tulsa, and Wichita State remained in the conference.

South Florida will open the 2024 season on February 8 with a doubleheader against Illinois State and Bethune-Cookman for the annual USF-Rawlings Invitational. The first pitch is set for 4 p.m. During the opening weekend, the Bulls will also welcome Michigan, Oregon State, and Florida.
