USF Softball: USF Softball Heads to City of Blues for Series Against Memphis

TAMPA, April 3, 2024– The University of South Florida Softball team will be back on the road this Friday through Sunday for an AAC series matchup against the Memphis Tigers. 

The Bulls and Tigers have played each other every year since 2014, except for 2020. The Bulls lead the all-time series 30-4. The Bulls have shut out the Tigers in the past four games played. Additionally, in the past 10 matchups, the Bulls have outscored the Tigers 72-8. 

Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) continues to prove to be one the strongest pitchers in the conference. She currently leads the conference in seven categories and ranks in the Top 30 in the nation for six. Nationally, Dixon is ranked 18th in innings pitched (113), 19th in shutouts (4), 23rd in games started (23), 27th in earned run average (1.3), 28th in strikeouts (108) and 29th in victories (12). 

Alanah Rivera (St. Petersburg) is currently on a six-game hit streak, coming up on her season-high at seven. Alexa Galligani (White Plains, N.Y.) has hit her season-high by reaching base in 11 consecutive games.

Notable Information:

  • Arianna Cox-Cole leads the Tigers and ranks fourth in the conference with 11 stolen bases this season. She is third in the AAC with stolen bases per game with 0.39.
  • In the circle, Taniyah Brown leads the Tigers with 54 strikeouts this season. She has pitched five complete games.
