USF Punter Schneider Earns Academic All-District Honors

Junior punter ranks second in The American in punting,

owns 4.0 GPA in communications

TAMPA, Nov. 22, 2019 – USF junior punter Trent Schneider (Sydney, Australia) has been named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District team, becoming the third Bulls football player to earn All-District honors in the last two seasons.

Schneider currently ranks second in the American Athletic Conference and 15th nationally with a 45.0 yards per punt average. The Ray Guy Award candidate also carries a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in communications.

Earlier in the 2019 season, Schneider twice set USF single-game punting average records, first breaking the program mark with a 51.6 yard average at Georgia Tech before topping his own mark with a 52.8 yard average in a victory over BYU. His current season average is on pace to set a new USF season mark, this after he set a season punting yardage record with 3,176 yards in 2018.

The 29-year old Australian is playing 9,264 miles and a 16-hour plane flight from his home in Sydney.

The Bulls (4-6; 2-4 American) take on No. 18 Memphis (9-1; 5-1 American) on Senior Day at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday. The game is set for a 4 p.m. kickoff on ESPNU.
