TAMPA, Fla (March 25, 2025) – The Bulls took full advantage of the opportunity at hand this week, posting their season-best team score (838), on their way to an eighth-place finish at a stacked Valspar Collegiate Invitational. They finished above No. 8 North Carolina, No. 21 Texas Tech, and No. 22 Tennessee. Wilhelm Ryding displayed his best collegiate performance on his way to a T4 finish against a stacked lineup.
Ryding’s fourth place finish saw him finish higher than six of the top 12 golfers in the nation. He carded a 202, which serves as his career-best 54-hole total, after just setting a career-best last week at the Linger Longer Invitational (204). The junior from Sweden also set his career low-round in round three where he shot a 65. His rounds of 68-69-65 is good for the best performance of the season for any Bulls golfer.
Senior Jake Peacock came roaring back on Tuesday reminding everyone why he is the defending AAC individual champion and one of the top golfers in America. Peacock began round three tied for 44th andjumped up to finish T12 after shooting his third round of 64, this season. The No. 38 ranked golfer in America shot seven-under in round three, which tied him for the best score in the final round.
Last week’s Linger Longer individual champion, Shubham Jaglan carded a 209 and placed T23. Rounding out the Bulls’ lineup, Cooper Smith finished with a 220 and Matthew Joseph finished with a 229.
The Bulls proved they can compete with the nation’s best this week at both a team and individual level. With one tournament left before the AAC Championships, this performance solidifies South Florida as the top contender heading into the AAC Championship. The team heads to Georgia on April 14 for The Invitational at The Ford.
