AUGUSTA, Ga., April 7, 2024 – The University of South Florida men’s golf team finished in ninth place at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational Sunday. Junior Shubham Jaglan paced the Bulls, closing with a 69 (-3) to finish tied for 17th at 215 (-1).
At the 54-hole event in Augusta Ga., the No. 47-ranked Bulls recorded a final score of 880 (+16) to finish ninth in a field in which seven other teams were ranked in the Top-50 in the country. The Bulls opened with a 291 (+3) in the first round, followed by a 299 (+11), and closed with their low round of the tournament 290 (+2).
Junior Shubham Jaglan (Jr., Delhi, India) carded the Bulls’ low round of the tournament with his final round 69 (-3), a round in which he made five birdies. He opened with an even-par 72 (E) and a 74 (+2) in the first and second rounds. He finished tied for 17th at 215 (-1). Jaglan was tied for third in par 5 scoring at 4.42 (-7) and made 13 birdies. He also recorded an eagle on the par-5 sixth in the second round and was one of 12 golfers to collect an eagle in the tournament.
Senior Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) shot par or better in two of the three rounds. Nicholson opened with a 71 (-1), followed by an even-par 72 in the second round. He closed with a 74 (+2) to finish tied for 25th with a three-round tally of 217 (+1). Nicholson was second in the tournament in par 5 scoring at 4.33 (-8) and made 14 birdies, including five in the final round.
Graduate student Brock Healy (Norcross, Ga.) opened with a 73 (+1) and a 79 (+7) on the first day. He posted five birdies in the final round to close with a 72 (E) and finished tied for 52nd.
Jake Peacock (Milton, Ga.) carded rounds of 75 (+3), 77 (+5), and 75 (+3) to finish tied for 61st at 227 (+11). Peacock carded 37 pars, tied for the second most in the field.
Redshirt junior Cooper Smith (Tampa, Fla.) finished 77th. Smith shot rounds of 76 (+5) in the second round and 75 (+3) in the third round.

The USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18.
