BREMERTON, Wash. (May 14, 2025) – The South Florida men’s golf team punched their ticket to the NCAA Division 1 National Championships in Carlsbad, CA. The Bulls shot the low-round in round three on Wednesday with a 278 (-10). They climbed all the way to fourth-place overall, 862 (-2), after being in seventh after round two. The team will travel to Carlsbad, CA May 23-28 to compete in their fifth National Championship in program history.
Senior Jake Peacock posted a birdie on the 18th hole sending the South Florida Bulls into a frenzy as they punched their ticket to the National Championships. Peacock (-2) finished the Bremerton Regional tied for twelfth.
When asked about the feeling of making it to his first National Championships, Jake said, “Nothing but pure joy. After coming up just short last year and in this year’s Conference Championship, punching that ticket in my final year with this group of guys is truly special.”
Peacock went on to praise his teammates, “I could stand here all day talking about my teammates. I love them to death. Last night we had a great talk, got ourselves in a great headspace and it showed on the course today.”
Wilhelm Ryding came into round three with a vengeance. Ryding played bogey-free golf, posting a 66 (-6) for the day. His 66 is three strokes shy of the Gold Mountain Golf Club’s course record. The sophomore from Sweden finished the Bremerton Regional three-over and tied for 27th.
Senior Shubham Jaglan, the Bulls’ all-time leader in eagles, carded a 215 (-1), tying him for 16th in his final Regional as a Bull. This serves as Jaglan’s eighth top-25 finish of the season.
Nino Palmquist performed his best when it mattered most. Palmquist carded a 68 (-4) in round three to help the Bulls punch their ticket to the National Championships. He would finish tied for 27th with teammate Wilhelm Ryding.
Cooper Smith finished the Bremerton Regional tied for 52nd with a 225 (+9).
Coach Steve Bradley will lead the Bulls’ to their fourth National Championships during his historic tenure at South Florida. After punching their ticket today, Coach stated, “We didn’t like the way we finished round two. Everyone remained laid back and casual heading into the final round. We played that back nine way better than we did all week which served as the difference today for us.”
Coach Bradley couldn’t be happier for his three seniors in Jake Peacock, Shubham Jaglan and Cooper Smith, “I am so proud of those three for their accomplishments with South Florida. They deserve to have their moment. Their happiness and tears of joy make this all worth it. We are ready to get out to Carlsbad next week!”
The Bulls will head to Omni Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA on May 23-28 for the Division 1 National Championships.
