USF Commencement to be held Saturday at Tropicana Field
TAMPA, MAY 7, 2021 – USF Athletics congratulates another outstanding group of student-athletes set to receive their degrees during the University of South Florida’s 123rd Commencement Convocation held Saturday at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
Fifty-five USF student-athletes are projected to receive their degrees this spring, increasing Athletics’ total number of graduates to nearly 450 since the 2016-17 school year. Heading into the spring term, the Bulls had posted an overall annual department grade-point average above 3.0 for a program-record five consecutive years and 12 straight semesters.
“We are so proud that our student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom and earn their degree,” Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly said. “It is exciting that in-person commencement ceremonies have returned and many of our student-athletes will take the opportunity to walk and receive their diploma. We are so proud of their contributions to our University, in and out of competition, and wish them the best of luck as they pursue careers and make positive impacts in communities all over the world.”
Bulls representing 16 athletic teams are slated to receive their degree this weekend, including five members of the four-time American Athletic Conference champion women’s soccer team led by Denise Schilte-Brown. Four members of Ken Eriksen’s softball team, which has won two-straight AAC titles and is currently on pace for a third straight, will graduate, including two-time AAC Pitcher of the Year Georgina Corrick, who has tossed three no-hitters this season.

Six members of Erik Jenkin’s women’s track and field and cross country teams, five members of Allison Jolly’s sailing team, two members of Cristina Moros’ women’s tennis team, and one member of Jolene Shepardson’s volleyball team are set to graduate.
