The Gators are back at home this weekend after being on the road. Florida welcomes Mississippi State on Friday at 5 p.m. and has pushed up No. 30 Ole Miss Sunday at 11 a.m. Admission is free for all.
GAINESVILLE, FL. – No.14 Florida will host Mississippi State and No. 30 Ole Miss this weekend at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. The Gators will face Mississippi State on Friday at 5 p.m. and will welcome Ole Miss on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Florida is currently on a five-match win streak and moved to 6-2 in conference play after defeating Arkansas and Missouri last weekend on the road.
GATOR SUCCESS
Freshman Malwina Rowinska was named as the SEC Freshman of the Week after an impressive performance in last weekend’s matches. Rowinska currently holds a 3-4 record in singles and is 7-6 in doubles play. The freshman is now on a three-match win streak in the singles and doubles category.
No. 15 Rachel Gailis<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/rachel-gailis/16143> (17-4, 6-1 SEC) has recorded the most victories against nationally ranked opponents so far. Gailis has posted three top-30 victories against No. 29 Dasha Vidmanova, No. 27 Sofia Cabezas and highly ranked No. 14 Carolyn Ansari. Gailis is hoping to continue dominating in singles action and looks to extend her six-match win streak on Florida’s home courts.
Qavia Lopez (17-8, 6-1 SEC) snagged her sixth win of the spring season against Missouri putting her on a four-game win streak. Lopez’s impressive performance in singles play opened the door for her to notch a national ranking by the ITA and now sits at No.109.
On the doubles side, duo Carly Briggs and Qavia Lopez recorded their third win of the spring season. The pair is now 3-0 after defeating Arkansas’ Lenka Stara/ Grace O’Donnell.
Alicia Dudeney and Malwina Rowinska recorded their first win against a nationally ranked opponent after defeating Missouri’s No. 53 Inah Canete and Mae Canete. The duo now moves to 3-0 in SEC doubles action.

Ahead of Friday’s match, Mississippi State is unranked with no ranked players on the singles or doubles side.
Despite posting a win on Sunday against non-conference opponent Mississippi Valley, the Bulldogs have gone winless in conference action going 0-7 in the SEC and 10-10 overall.
ABOUT OLE MISS
Ahead of Sunday’s match, Ole Miss currently sits at the No. 30 spot with no ranked singles players and one ranked doubles teams.
Doubles pair, Ava Hrastar and Briana Crowley ranks at No. 64 going 10-7 overall and 3-2 in SEC action.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gators last outing against Missouri was a 4-0 shutout win in Columbia.
UF snagged the doubles point with duo Rachel Gailis and Bente Spee taking the first win on Court 3 pushing passed Andrea Artimedi and Sophia McLellan 6-1. Alicia Dudeney and Malwina Rowinska secured the point for the Gators once again with a 6-4 win against No. 53 Inah Canete and Mae Canete.
Moving into singles action 1-0, Florida kept their momentum going. Malwina Rowinska snagged the first singles win against Roma Cardenas Rifka in a 6-4, 6-0 straight set effort.
No. 15 Rachel Gailis followed suit with a straight set victory of her own. Gailis defeated Mae Canete 6-2, 6-2 on Court 1 and pulled Florida away 3-0.
The match ending point came from No. 109 Qavia Lopez on Court 3. Lopez faced Gabriela Martinez and took the first set 6-0. Qavia Lopez secured the win for the Gators with a 6-4 victory in the second set.
